Crackdown by the Russian Authorities Peaceful Rally in the Triumphal'naya Sq.
May 31, 2010 - Moscow, Triumphal'naya Sq., 18.00. URGENT MESSAGE:
Currently, in the center of Moscow on Triumphal'naya Square is opposition rally "Strategy-31" in civil rights and freedoms in Russia. The organizers of the action were "Solidarity" movement and the Party of "Other Russia".It was learned that the police force and Interior Ministry troops are left to dispersal of the peaceful protest. By unspecified data gathered on the square around 2,000 opposition members, all of which require compliance with human rights and freedoms and civil rights in Russia, but authorities do not pay attention to their demands, but only roughly suppress the action.
As we have learned from one of our colleague - Alexey Karyshkov, which is now on the square "in relation opponents used batons, crude physical force and tear gas."
Recall that such opposition rally held in Russia every 31th of each month, and each time the authorities break up opposition.

- Ivan Smirnov and Dmitriy Arbatov in detention were injured. Eyewitnesses say that the police beat opposition clubs throughout the body and head.
- The crowd was thrown into opposition two balloons of tear gas. Currently, the Central Group of the opposition is divided, some of them arrested, and another part was forced to flee from the gas.
